HDD PSP Not ruled out
In an interview to Eurogamer.net, David Reeves from SCEE said that allowing PSP to use HDD as storage option has not been ruled out by the Sony. Even though new PSP Slim does not contain any modifications regarding data storage, PSP HDD remains as option. According to Reeves, Sony is still thinking about entirely relying on Flash memory - Memory Stick as a sole data storage solution for PSP. Sony’s standpoint is to see what happens during the Christmas period, and then decide “what the next step should be”.

The only thing I would say is that the flash memory is simply so cheap - you can get an 8GB Memory Stick for under 100 Euros, and on 8GB you can get a lot of content. I think the big debate is - there’s a point in time when you have to put a stake in the ground and say we’re going to go with flash memory or we’re going to go with hard drive. I don’t think they’ve put that stake in the ground just yet. You might hear more later.
