Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, still waiting but knowing more
Much anticipated Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 from Konami is to be released in January of 2008, and while we’re still patiently waiting, more information about the PSP version of the game has been released. Konami has opened it’s vaults and released some information regarding gameplay and available game modes.
According to Japanese developer PSP version of PES2008 will have common grounds with the PS2 version of the game, featuring tournaments, leagues and a new World Tour mode “wherein users are set a series of challenges as they tour the globe”. Game will also keep full-edit mode allowing customization of teams just like in previous version.
New to the game is the data-sharing mode which allows players to exchange Master League, League, World Tour and Cup Mode data between the PSP and PS2 versions so players can “continue building their team while away from their home system”. Players also can exchange players with friends and collect coins to buy the world’s best players.
Unfortunately it is still unclear will the PSP version of the game support infrastructure mode, or even a network mode for four-player multiplayer games like DS version does. Konami still did not officialy release the statement on the subject.
